Tucker points out that the war is all about destroying Israel's enemies in the region, including to diminish the Gulf State countries, and to remove the US from the region - allowing Israeli free reign, but to what end? They can't win against Iran unless nuclear weapons are used. However, on that last point, the Iranians also wants the US to withdraw from the region.
The cold hard facts of the situation are that neither the US or Israel can defeat Iran using conventional weapons. They must therefore back down. At the same time nothing will stop the upcoming economic calamity as oil shortages bite. How things ultimately turn out is anyone's guess. The neocons think that they will come out on top despite a number of losing signals, including the fact they have lost the propaganda war. Israel may end up like South Africa, despite all of their blackmailing, extortion and bribery, while the US may eventually turn towards isolationism.
