Daniel Davis points out that after the US strategic defeat in Vietnam the military became more reflective and sought not to engage in conflicts where there wasn't an achievable objective. However since then, with the regime change wars in the Middle East, that lesson has been set aside. The reason for the current US foreign policy is because it is driven by the Israelis (and their cabal of neocons), and not the US State. 

Both Iran and Russia are targets of the neocons. Attacking these nations, who are allied with each other, and also allied to China, is foolish considering the deindustrialisation of the West. In any long running war of attrition the West will lose. The wars are a road to defeat - militarily and economically.

Col Doug Macgregor: The US Military LOST Against Iran? (Warrior Diplomacy)

US involvement in the Middle East has been disastrous for both the US and the West in general. Everything has ended in failure. The wars have been neocon projects and NOT conducted in the interests of the USA.
These military veterans talk about what the US military has learnt, and a lot of what it hasn't learnt. The big problem is the politicians and senior leadership leading the troops into dead end situations because of politically driven thinking (and corruption) that has divorced them from reality and stopped them from asking the right questions. 

This is an excellent, must see, discussion about systems analysis. Macgregor makes a great point that clear thinking trumps one's level of education in many circumstances, and that systems that reward (unthinking) 'yes men' have led to failures in command and organisation. A lot of what he talks about comes down to recognising psychological failures of various kinds. This has become a common theme in many situations outside of the military. It's not one's level of supposed intelligence or expertise that is the most valuable characteristic when it comes to taking in new information and learning, it's one's psychological disposition. 

Note: When it comes to their discussion about future war, the answer (that they don't quite reach) is that we are returning to industrial war, and war of attrition, but with drone and ballistic missile saturation overlapping with existing conventional forces. Until satellite and optical drone sensing technology, or their communications, can be defeated (with lasers, jamming or hacking) then future wars will be massed drone armies vs similar armies.

Their idea of focusing US military forces on the Mexican border, where the mission is clear, is a good one. Missions that don't have clear objectives in directly helping the country, like attacking Iran, must be avoided.

Russia continues to grind down the Ukrainian military. The lack of resistance, due to attrition, is facilitating more rapid Russian advances. Generals, Wars & Lying: It Never Stops / Lt Col Daniel Davis

The speaker criticizes American military leadership for consistently misrepresenting the reality of wars, comparing the Vietnam War, the war in Afghanistan, and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. They argue that U.S. generals, past and present (e.g., Westmoreland, Petraeus, and Cavoli), have often knowingly presented overly optimistic or false assessments to align with political goals rather than ground realities.

In Vietnam, it was evident early on that military victory was unattainable despite superior firepower, but leadership told the president what he wanted to hear.

The Generals are lying about about Ukraine now. And we can see it. They talk about a strong Ukrainian army, that they won't collapse, but none of this is true. There's every chance their battered army will collapse under relentless Russian attacks.

Has the "War on Terror" been a PSYOPS designed to serve the interests of the establishment? (Gerard Rennick)

In Question Time I asked the Foreign Minister if the “war on terror” was in fact nothing but a psychological operation (psy-ops) designed to advance imperial interests in the Middle East.

The silence by the media in regards to the take over of Syria by Al-Qaeda deserves greater scrutiny.

Our veterans deserve to know why they were fighting Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan if Al-Qaeda was being funded by the same people funding our troops.

I referred to this possibility in my maiden speech when I called out the Milo Minderbinder funding the wars in the Middle East. (Milo Minderbinder is a war profiteer in Catch-22 - a famous satire on war - M&M enterprises referring to the CIA)

The other reason this matters is that these wars have resulted in millions of Muslim migrants flooding Western Countries and creating much division because many immigrants have been unable to assimilate.

Blame for the “war on terror” has to lay at the feet of Western Intelligence Agencies. Their lies have wasted billions of taxpayer dollars that have ended up in the pockets of the rich, destroyed our military and our veterans and caused social disintegration in the West.

And let’s not forget it was the CIA and BARDA who created Covid to create a pandemic to enable crooked Joe Biden to get into the White House to start the war with Ukraine.

They are the real threat to our democracy and they need to be called out.



Some good questions raised in Parliament about Western countries backing extremist organisations/groups to engage in regime change operations, such as we saw in Libya and Syria plus referencing the lies about the WMDs, used as an excuse to destroy Iraq (and where, as a solution to stop Sunni attacks on occupation forces, support was given to Shiite death squads, which contributed to the carnage and depopulation of the country - something that was openly admitted).

The Afghanistan conflict, in the end, turned out to be as Julian Assange described it - a money laundering operation designed to wash money from the taxpayers into private companies contracted to support the war (that then gave money to the politicians). At the same time the drug trade boomed, where the money was undoubtedly going into intelligence agency networks who were partnered in it. The same sort of dealing they did with drugs from the Golden Triangle in South East Asia, and then the cocaine trade from South America in the 80s and 90s.
