Labor NEED the Unions if they're going to have ANY chance at the next Vic elections... but they just suffered a HUMILIATING defeat at the hands of the RED Union... a NON-Labor aligned union that they thought they could destroy.

The government in Victoria is trying to shut down the Red Union which isn't affiliated to Labor, via a Bill. The good thing is there's been a huge groundswell of support for the Union coming from Libertarians, Greens and many others. While the Bill will pass the lower house it won't pass the upper house as things stand. This situation shows that people can be on the same page when it comes to certain clear cut issues.
