The Israelis are hell bent on putting blanket surveillance on Trump. They really don't want him to cut any peace deal via Pakistan, of which they are not a participant. The Israelis want the wars in Lebanon and against Iran to continue. At the same time Trump might be getting desperate, at least behind the scenes, to stop the fighting before an economic calamity occurs. Trump can't do anything to stop what the Israelis are doing because he faces being killed. He's not part of the Deep State, and has no leverage. Blumenthal rightly points out that as time went on, and especially in the run up to the 2024 election, Trump and his family slowly got further entrenched with Israeli donors and corporations.
