ANARCHY IN CANADA: Ottawa Orders CULL of 400 Ostriches Despite Surviving Avian Flu (Viva Frei)
The Canadian government has authorized the slaughter of nearly 400 healthy ostriches at Universal Ostrich Farm in British Columbia, following a year-old outbreak of H5N1 avian flu. Despite the birds surviving the virus and remaining free of infection for months, federal courts ruled in favor of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s cull order.
The farm’s legal challenges have repeatedly failed, with the Federal Court of Appeal most recently rejecting a bid to halt the killings. Video evidence shows helicopters over the property as officials prepare for mass culling. Critics argue the surviving birds may hold scientific value in understanding resistance to the virus, while high-profile figures, including RFK Jr., have urged Canada to halt the operation.
The case has sparked widespread outrage, raising questions about government overreach, judicial deference to administrative agencies, and the ethics of destroying healthy livestock.
Unthinking authoritarianism at work. What's happening here is insane and it's more of what we saw during Covid. There seems to be a lot of stiffs occupying positions of power and they need to go. The system needs to change so that political wackjobs are removed and more reasonable people are put into office.
