Dave talks about carrying on the tradition of past sci fi franchises, firstly through fan fiction, and then via our own independent stories. This is already happening.
Another thing that should happen is the utter rejection of the woke material, treating it as if it is not canon - that it simply does not exist. This mindset is similar to what you might have when thinking about a film such as Highlander 2. Many people consider that the only true and legitimate Highlander film is the first one. In this way we can reject all the new, and dumb, Disney Star Wars films (and some might argue, to reject and rework the prequels that were a sub par effort). All the recent Dr Who series are garbage and do not exist. They are the bad dream of a tortured Time Lord. Hardcore sci fi writers need to take over and kick out all the woke MFs currently steering the franchise ships.
