What a mess. The intention here seems to be to smear Trump's character. The issue is that this is not just about Trump but that this sort of lawfare can be used against anyone. An appeal against what's happening, if Trump loses, will be needed.

The bottom line is that this sort of pay off, if there was an affair, is not election interference. If this were true then many politicians should have been prosecuted before this time.
