The Ukrainian Army assembled 9 NATO-trained brigades for its Spring/Summer offensive but they will attack in open terrain and face an extremely dense network of Russian fortifications along the Zaporizhia front. Can the Challenger 2 and Leopard 2 make a difference?
The Ukrainians already lost their starting army and equipment against a smaller Russian force with less well prepared defenses. The idea that this force will do better with less, albeit with Western tanks, doesn't make any sense. The problem for Ukraine is if they stay in a defensive posture the Russian artillery and drones will slowly whittle them away. If they advance they'll be carved up. Is the Ukrainian primary strategy to play for time so they can draw in more resources to prolong their fight? Perhaps they are still hoping for direct NATO intervention? Western leaders are so corrupt and controlled (by neocons) that there is a possibility they are working on plans so they can introduce NATO troops - to create a 'safe zone', or something like that. The Russians have warned they will attack any foreign armies entering the country.
