Russia Presses Ukraine in Soledar, Bakhmut, Ukraine Mulls Retreat; Patrushev Says Russia Fights West (Alexander Mercouris)

The war could have been avoided but myopic anti Russian warmongers derailed all attempts. Alexander relates the story of the West pumping Ukraine with weapons after the 2014-15 conflict that then led to today's escalation. For 8 years people in the East of Ukraine were under siege and bombardment from the Ukrainian Army where at least 10,000 people were killed. Now, after hundreds of thousands have been killed, the fighting may eventually come to an end with a Russian victory.
