The Israelis, with these air strikes, are supporting the Islamists who are fighting against the secular Syrian Government because the Government is allied to Iran. Both Iran and Syria support groups like Hezbollah in Lebanon. However, Hezbollah acts as a defensive shield and does not attack Israel. Israel is simply trying to destroy any opposing forces they can, even if they are not directly at war. They want the Arab states to self destruct and they will bomb them to help this come about. This Proxy War against Syria has been going on for 11 years and it's past time to stop.
