Four years ago the World Economic Forum announced their plan to make Sri Lanka rich by the year 2025. Now Sri Lanka is bankrupt, out of fuel and running short of food.
There's nothing wrong with trying to get agricultural production to switch to being fully organic but it has to work and it can't be rushed. In the case of Sri Lanka they banned materials they used to run their farms and low yields led to shortages. One cannot easily ban anything without a viable replacement.
