The corruption here is insane and obvious. I think the trigger for trying such a thing came during the Trump Administration when the media was carrying all manner of ridiculous lies (about Russiagate) that went unchecked - except in the alternative media. It proved they could lie to this mainstream audience with impunity, and most of the people would lap it up.
