His assessment, that makes sense, is that the fighting in Ukraine is similar to the Italian Campaign in Wolrd War 2 where villages and towns, with substantial brick buildings, were turned into fortified positions. The problem for the Ukrainian defenders will be the same, where massed firepower is projected onto each position, slowly eliminating their personnel and equipment. Open tank/armoured warfare is out due to the use of Anti-tank missiles and drones.
