U.S. & Israel Set to Strike Iran Again — The Consequences (Jimmy Dore)

Jimmy interviews political analyst Glenn Diesen about reports that the United States and Israel are preparing renewed military strikes against Iran following the U.S. midterm elections, potentially targeting energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, missiles, and drones. Diesen warns that Iranian retaliation against Gulf states’ oil facilities and desalination plants could trigger a regional catastrophe, disrupt global energy supplies, cause mass displacement, and severely damage the U.S. economy and financial markets.

Diesen questions the strategic rationale behind another attack, arguing that Iran retains significant missile and drone capabilities, views regime change as an existential threat, and says the result could be a descent into state fragmentation and prolonged instability if Iran’s government collapses. The conversation concludes that renewed warfare could escalate beyond its intended objectives, reshaping the Middle East, undermining the petrodollar system, and creating far-reaching geopolitical and economic consequences.

The Israelis may see global economic destruction as worth the risk, betting that the US will support them through any crisis while their regional rivals descend into anarchy - which would be all of the Gulf States, Lebanon, plus Turkey and Egypt.
