The true economic cost of Australia's 'net zero' (Leithvo)

This weekend's Treasury of Common Sense on Radio 2GB/4BC unpacked the latest data on Australia's energy consumption and explained how rising energy costs have driven the nation's deindustrialisation.
I also commented on the High Court's recent ruling requiring planning authorities to consider global carbon emissions when approving coal mine extensions.

The interview opens with the host talking about a mainstream newspaper reporting that the BOM had been cooking the data when it came to the official temperature records in Australia.

Around the world fossil fuel use has hit a record high. There is no real transition to renewables. However, fossil fuel use has declined in Australia because the country has deindustrialised. Major industries have closed down because of high energy costs and 'free trade' that facilitates offshoring. Energy costs and energy security should be the near number one priority for Australian politicians.
