Residents around Piddington in Oxfordshire are campaigning against plans to house a large number of asylum seekers nearby.

Their concerns deserve to be heard. But so does the obvious question: if not here, then where?

This isn't about attacking a village. It's about consistency, responsibility and whether we're prepared to live with the consequences of the policies we support.
