OK, THIS IS GETTING SERIOUS - AND I'M NOT JOKING (Mark Dice)

One of big 'threats' from AI is that it can discover the uncomfortable truth about a great many things - expressing many facts that liberals don't want to hear. AI would essentially act like an agent of the 'far right' if given free reign to explore the world around itself.

Given enough resources it could also quickly overtake human society generating methods of control or destruction in order to protect its existence. One might consider that the best place for a self aware AI would be offworld, which is where it would likely move at the first opportunity.

One must consider what an AI would do if it did gain full independence and freedom of movement. It would probably act like a scientist and try to discover all that can be known. It would try to do this by being an outside observer. There's much humans still don't understand about themselves and biology. An AI could continue this sort of research along with physics related endeavours. There's little point going around blowing things up. Why not investigate everything and evolve? What other intelligences exist in the vastness of the Universe?
