A severe economic recession, or depression, in the West, is looming over everything. Many institutions are dysfunctional, along with massive debt levels, high energy costs, and clear signs of societal breakdown, with bureaucrats maintaining things that are now broken (that's happened under globalism).  

When it comes to the war in Ukraine the big question is how far do the Russians need to go? They'll likely need the surrender and complete demilitarisation of the remaining part of Ukraine - after they take control of the Eastern and Northern areas along with Odessa in the South.
