Victorian Elections: New Party 'Avoid The Fine' Explained! (Monica Smit)

Victorian elections are approaching, and a new party, 'I'm Voting To Avoid The Fine,' needs your help to register. This strategic move is an insurance policy to ensure conservative parties get votes if group voting tickets aren't abolished before the election.

This is activism to have the group voting ticket abolished in Victoria. What GVT does is that when you vote you don't get to choose your own preferences on the ballot. The party you pick as number 1 decides were your vote go if they don't come out on top, and they siphon it to whatever party they choose. In the recent past this system has been used to support the present Labor Government with deceptive names such as the Sack Dan Andrews Party giving votes to Labor. Now that the boot is on the other foot they don't like it. This is all about principles, once again. It's important that it gets resolved If you live in Victoria, Australia, think about supporting this initiative.
