The Indian migration boom. Is it a bust financially? (Leithvo)

In this latest "Dismal Science" segment on ABC Upper Hunter with Sean Murphy, I discuss the boom in Indian migration to Australia and its economic impacts.

Everyone has their own home countries that they can improve, and yet they flock to Western nations, as if their own countries are no good. By taking all these people the West actually takes a fair portion of talented people that can improve second and third world nations, while also taking a lot of relatively unskilled individuals. This open borders system is not a good idea.

No one actually wants this. We certainly never voted for it.

I am yet to see any benefits to average Australians.

When India has a population of almost 1.5 billion, 10 million could immigrate here with no foreseeable consequences for India but Australia would not cope. It's a very one sided deal
