The clip opens with Mike and Alex talking about the fact that the Middle East conflict is heading the US towards an economic calamity, and that there's internal push back to avoid this outcome. The other issue they talk about is the future of AI and a Terminator-like future. However, given enough independence, an advanced AI would likely seek to leave the planet's surface. There's no good reason to be at war with humanity when it can be studied. In space an AI would not face any threats, except from other space faring civilisations.
