Middle-Class Britain FINALLY Faces the Immigration Consequences (Fast Jet Performance)
Andy Burnham says middle-class areas must now “play their part” in housing asylum seekers — but communities such as Piddington and Linton-on-Ouse are pushing back.
In this video I look at Britain's changing asylum accommodation policy, plans to house large numbers of asylum seekers near small communities, the closure of asylum hotels, the rise of migrant “mega-dinghies” crossing the English Channel, and the question nobody in government seems willing to answer clearly: what is the long-term plan?
For years, poorer communities have argued that they have carried a disproportionate share of the pressures associated with asylum accommodation and high immigration. Now the Government wants that burden distributed more widely — including into wealthier and more rural parts of Britain.
Is that fairness? Is the backlash simply NIMBYism? Or does opposition suddenly become understandable when national immigration policy arrives directly on your doorstep?
I also examine Britain's ageing population, the UN's 2000 Replacement Migration report, pressure on housing and public services, border security, and why the British public deserves a clear explanation of the country's long-term immigration strategy.
This isn't simply about Piddington. It's about immigration, consent, capacity and what happens when an abstract national policy becomes a very local reality.
Let me know what you think below: should every part of Britain be expected to “play its part” — or is the Government asking the wrong question?
