Former Senator Gerard Rennick: A Real Alternative To Serve The People | Citizens Report 9 Jul 2026

Former Senator Gerard Rennick joins Robert Barwick for one of his most candid interviews yet. After six years inside the Australian Senate, Rennick discusses:
• Why backbench MPs have so little influence
• How major policy decisions are really made
• The rise of the "Uni Party"
• Internal Liberal Party debates
• Australia's banking and monetary system
• Why he left the Liberal Party
• The thinking behind the proposed Australian People's Party

A definite MUST SEE interview. Gerard Rennick is an actual honest politician. He took none of the usual excessive perks while in office and interacted with his constituents. He stood up against the Covid jabs, while his party, and all the other majors, went along with the madness when they knew it was injuring people. His major focus is on Economic reform, to actually help ordinary people and lower the cost of living.

In this video Rennick talks about how real country-improving changes have continually been sidelined because of the neo-liberal bureaucracy. During the Covid lockdowns he lobbied to have the Government buy back infrastructure with the money being printed, so that revenue could be generated from it. Of course nothing happened. One of his goals seems to be aimed at buying back public utilities that have now been privatised. In the interview he went on to list 5 key policies that are:

Making the tax free threshold 45,000 dollars
Pay Childcare directly to parents
Make Superannuation voluntary
Create a Public Infrastructure and Savings Bank, plus Public Insurance
Raise the Withholding Tax to stop profit offshoring

The editors at Spookyweather had previously put together a proposed (not official) one page flyer to promote Gerard Rennick's People First Party. The following is a slightly updated version of the flyer:
