Dave Hughes sprays Albanese Government over budget backflip | Today Show Australia
Australian comedian Dave Hughes has gone viral online after launching a furious, unfiltered tirade against Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Treasurer Jim Chalmers over the federal budget. Appearing on Nine’s Today Show with hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo, the outspoken media personality refused to hold back, labelling the nation's political leaders "idiots" who treat taxpayers' hard-earned money like cash found in a sack by the river.
The fiery debate kicked off when "Hughesy" addressed changes to the Capital Gains Tax and superannuation investments. The comic claimed the policy shifts penalise everyday working Australians. Expressing deep frustration over the rising cost of living and housing market pressures, Hughes accused the federal government of blatantly lying to the public to secure power without an authentic mandate.
The conversation quickly shifted to state politics, with Hughes slamming major infrastructure projects in Victoria, such as the controversial West Gate Tunnel. He criticised skyrocketing project costs, alleging that state spending has bled the local economy dry and forced the closure of essential services like local police stations.
People from all sections of Australian society have turned against the present globalist Labor Government.
