Finding More Than We Expected at the Rarely-Seen Ancient Megalithic Site of Mendes! (UnchartedX)

The ancient site of Mendes - once, a thriving settlement, the capital of the 16th nome of ancient egypt with roots going back to pre-dynastic Ancient Egypt. Today, a rarely seen or discussed megalithic ruin, with secrets hiding in its rubble and just below the surface. Join me as we explore ancient Mendes, known as Tell el Ruba, and get into the history of this site along with a full 'special-permission' site visit.

We found some remarkable artifacts here, much more than we expected. Not just the spectacular granite Naos, but also evidence for the ancient hard stone vases and the same machining and stone cutting witness marks found at sites like Abu Sir, and the great pyramids of the Giza Plateau.
