The blockade will backfire by further drawing the support of China and India to the Iranian side. And if Iran destroys electricity and water plants of the Gulf State countries they will cease to exist. Meanwhile Iran is largely self sufficient in food and water.

While the Iranians won't back down, they should consider some level placation by offering to give up all nuclear activities. The truth of the situation is that the US-Israelis want the destruction of the Iranian State. Peace negotiations are simply cover for machinations directed towards that (failed) end. 

In a more sane world, to end the conflict, the US-Israelis should simply stop their acts of aggression and accept the tax imposed by Iran on shipping that passes through the Strait. One dollar per barrel of oil is a very affordable rate.
