Are the Old Kingdom Pyramid Pharoahs ALL Buried HERE? (Ancient Architects)
The enigmatic pyramids of Egypt have sparked interest and intrigue for centuries. These mighty mounds of stacked stones have been called everything from powerplants and water pumps to granaries and spiritual gateways.
Some believe them to be far older than the conventional dates of the Old Kingdom, whilst others believe the timeline fits with their construction, but whatever you believe, I think we can all agree that in the Old Kingdom of Egyptian history, they certainly had a funerary purpose.
But today, pyramids are basically empty shells, with most only having a stone sarcophagus in-situ – no mummy, no gravegoods. Only a handful of bones and mummy wrappings have ever been found inside pyramids, some of which date to a much later time, so what happened to the pharaohs of the Old Kingdom?
It's possible the mummified remains were laid to rest in each respective pyramid in the Old Kingdom, that they were in their sarcophagi when each pyramid was looted, and whether they remained intact or were desecrated, it is possible the mummies were taken out of their pyramids in the Middle Kingdom and reburied in a secret location. In this video I reveal the possible location of this Old Kingdom Royal cache!
The big problem is that anything deeply buried in Egypt is now below the water table.
