Whatever you think of his stance, the spectacle of armed police detaining a comedy writer for words should chill us all. When jokes become crimes and “incitement” is stretched to cover opinions, the law is no longer protecting people — it’s controlling them. Free speech in Britain is fading into prohibition, and that ought to trouble anyone who values liberty.
