U 16s ban in trouble? Senator Babet is turning the tide. The Topher Project Ep 135

Senator Ralph Babet appears to have played his parliamentary hand perfectly and he is now leading the pushback against the E-Karen and her internet bans, AND he's enjoying almost universal support from everyone... except Labor.

This doesn't just spell trouble for the age-verification rules, it spells trouble for the E-Karen and might just bring about the end of the E-Safety Office itself.

This clip explains the push to have ID for using a search engine in Australia, and also for using You Tube - this is going beyond blocking social media use for under 16s. There were two Senate votes. In the first (successful) vote all senators, apart from the Governing Labor party, voted against the idea of having checks for using search engines. The second (unsuccessful) vote was for an inquiry into the powers of the e-Safety Commission, which was blocked by Labor and the Greens voting together.

The overarching concern is that the new regulations and censorship is going to end up as a rerun of the misinformation/disinformation bill that would ultimately block alternative media, and social media sharing of information. They might not censor people viewing content, but they would likely stop those people who are sharing the info in Australia, and maybe blocking outside content. People sharing the info would be in violation of social media regulations concerning harmful content. They're doing this to try to put a lid on things after pushing all the lies during the scamdemic where the authorities railroaded people into taking a dangerous experimental jab.
