Biden-Era D.C. Over? Trump’s Sweep Nets 100+ Arrests in Days (Viva Frei)

Washington, D.C. has seen a sharp escalation in law enforcement activity as President Donald Trump implements a federal crackdown on crime and homelessness in the nation’s capital. According to White House officials, 103 arrests have been made since August 7, including 43 on a single day. The initiative also targets homeless encampments, with the administration ordering the removal of 70 camps so far and giving remaining residents a choice between accepting shelter and treatment or facing jail time. Press Secretary Carolyn Leavitt confirmed that only two federally controlled encampments remain, both scheduled for clearance within days. The administration insists the measures enforce existing laws, aiming to dismantle long-standing tent cities and address public safety concerns.
