While taking out Iran will help Israel it'll be a disaster for the USA and the rest of the world. The conflict will likely be protracted, and cause a huge spike in the price of oil, drive inflation and lead to many other problems.
Jones and Bannon both have the ear of the President, perhaps not consistently, but they do. They don't want to see the present conflict go any further and they're both probably sick of US soldiers dying in the execution of neocon objectives (that get kicked of due to false flags or Western sponsored insurgencies).
