France believes it can defeat Russia (The Duran)

The Russian military has only grown larger during this war, while the Ukrainian side has diminished, even with their conscription drives. The Russians are also advancing all over the front lines and have built up very large forces to fight in the spring, as the ground becomes harder.

Meanwhile the French are planning on sending troops to Odessa in a future operation hinged on a 'unilateral ceasefire' called by Zelensky, that would possibly include UK military personnel?  However, the French or UK militaries cannot possibly stop the Russians in their own back yard. Their forces would be no more special than the best Ukrainian units and would be subject to missile strikes and massed drone and artillery attacks. These actions are folly, likely designed to escalate the conflict and drag in the United States (that has no interest in doing so). The US is actually very near to walking away from this war.
