The scientist in the thumbnail is not actually being paid by big oil. It's a canard rolled out to smear people challenging the official narrative on climate. The amount he was paid was ZERO dollars. The climate sceptics, on the whole, are not actually funded by big oil. The data is what is important.

The clip makes an excellent point about people asking whether someone 'believes in climate change', putting it as a moral question, rather than it being one about the evidence. If you say you don't believe in the climate change alarmism pushed by academics and the media, BECAUSE the evidence doesn't stack up, you are automatically seen as a bad person who doesn't care about the environment. This is where we are unfortunately. In recent years it's become more apparent that (exploring) the evidence, when it comes to a number of different issues, doesn't seem to matter in the minds of a large portion of the public.
