Many leftists have a outgroup preference but they've also been heavily influenced by intersectional politics (cultural Marxism). Living in the real world, with varying hardships, brought on by globalist policies, is hard for these people.

A lot of media content over the last few years has created a false way of looking at the world, a false reality (worse than what the MSM has done before), pushing intersectional theory (cultural Marxism), so that ordinary people end up in conflict with each other.

This distraction seems to have appeared after the anti corporatist protests arising out of the Global Financial Crisis. You can bet money was poured into groups pushing these ideas (look at ESG funding) that has led to people fighting among themselves rather than looking at the root causes of corruption and impoverishment (which is a top down thing, not a side to side thing).
