Col Doug Macgregor: Trump Liberated US from the Stupidity of Waging War on Russia (Daniel Davis)
The presentation discusses former President Trump's claims that the Russia-Ukraine war could end within weeks, with his administration signaling potential peace negotiations. Colonel Doug McGregor provides analysis, emphasizing that Trump deserves credit for wanting to end the war and normalize relations with Russia. However, he cautions against setting strict timelines, as the resolution depends heavily on Russia's terms and objectives.
McGregor highlights that Russia holds the strategic initiative and is moving at its own pace, with the ability to escalate further if necessary. He suggests that Russia may aim to secure control over key Ukrainian territories, including Kyiv and potentially Odessa, before agreeing to peace. The discussion also touches on Russia’s broader geopolitical strategy, including a proposed new security framework for Europe.
Trump’s role in negotiations is debated, with concerns about how he would navigate talks if Russia demands full territorial concessions. McGregor argues that the U.S. currently lacks leverage due to the Biden administration’s policies, and that Trump’s approach represents a pragmatic shift rather than a position of strength. The presentation concludes with uncertainty about the war's trajectory but acknowledges that diplomatic efforts are in motion.
This was from before the row in the White House with Zelensky. Colonel Macgregor nailed the situation such that what did happen wasn't surprising. The two Colonels are talking pretty accurately and honestly about the conflict. A large offensive operation may be on the cards in the near future. Certainly the Russians have been building up their forces for a long time and have not fully engaged them. Will we see large arrow operations, massed FPV drone attacks, or something else?
