‘Bloody insult': Clive Palmer blasts new tax cut (Sky News Australia)

Trumpet for Patriots Party chair Clive Palmer has slammed Labor’s $5 tax cut announcement, labelling it a "bloody insult".

Treasurer Jim Chalmers handed down his fourth budget on Tuesday night, unveiling a host of new cost of living relief measures as part of a ploy to win over voters ahead of the federal election.

“I just say he's a Scrooge … $5 to solve Australia's problems and every citizen's is a bloody insult," Mr Palmer told Sky News host Paul Murray.

"What a ridiculous situation to say, here's $5, your power bill's going up $1,000, you're losing your home, but here's $5, everything will be right."
