Syria Chaos; Erdogan Alarmed; Israel Seizes Territory; Naryshkin: Russia On Brink of Ukraine Victory (Alexander Mercouris)

Will Syria descend into Libya 2.0 or will it hold together under the influence of Turkey or other outside sponsors of the fighting? Syrian Embassies are still open, and the Government still functions. The Israeli incursion, and bombings, will not help things, and may invite Jihadi attacks. This was likely done to further draw in US forces that occupy the East with the Kurds (a faction the Turks want to see removed from the board). If Israel goes up against the Jihadists in any big way the US will come right in and assist them.

The overarching question is, will the outside players now flip the script and call for a war against the Jihadists they sponsored, so they can occupy the country? Will the Jihadists smash the minority population now under their control in the meantime? The situation looks grim. One might guess that the territory of Syria will be carved up and controlled, in the long run, by Turkey, Israel and the USA (via the Kurds).

The clip points out that the collapse of the Syrian Army came about due to Syrian generals standing down their forces. It did not help that the country had become impoverished after the US took control of the oil producing areas of the State. Apparently the Jihadis have, likely through Turkey, reached out to the Russians allowing them to keep their military bases in the country, but will the Russians stay?  

Alexander also raises the issue of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons in response to what happened in Syria.
