Escaping the Al-Qaeda Takeover in Syria After the Fall of Assad w/ Vanessa Beeley (Rachel Blevins)

It has been nearly one week since Bashar al-Assad was overthrown and the Syrian people were left to the mercy of Al-Qaeda in Syria. While the U.S. is supposed to have Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) classified as a terrorist organization, Sec. of State Antony Blinken admitted that the Biden Admin was in direct communication with the group.

Independent Journalist Vanessa Beeley, who was based in Damascus up until last week, discussed her evacuation from Syria, and what the end of the Assad Government means for the Syrian people and the future of foreign interference in the country.



The HTS proxy army is an Al Qaeda derived terrorist group that has taken over large sections of Syria and is backed by Turkey. Turkey really needs to keep these mercenary maniacs on a leash as much as they can. This is a clip from journalist Venessa Beeley who was living in Damascus. She reported narrowly escaping armed looters and has said, along with other independent journos, that the killing of minority groups have been ongoing. I thought this was a good interview. The Rachel Blevins channel has a wide range of guests from the alt media.

Meanwhile the MSM is spewing nonsense about Assad's brutal rule, as if this situation is an improvement. Much of the claims made against Assad are false too. The Chemical weapons attacks, the massacre claims from early in the war, the idea that he was intent on killing his own people etc. It's dumb propaganda. Was the Syrian Gov a paragon of virtue when it came to human rights? No. But they were not intent on killing minority groups AND their forces contained a lot of moderate sunnis ... so this was not simply about a shiite-sunni clash. It was one of Western/Turkish/Gulf State backed extremists vs a secular government. They faced a huge security crisis, and then were eventually ground down as their economy was destroyed by the US occupying their resource rich areas.

Additional comment:

Be wary of all the stories coming out of Syria at the moment. There's an industry of war propagandists and Mainstream media that are going to give you a very one sided picture of events. How many of the sob stories about a brutal dictatorship will be staged? This sort of thing happened during the entire period of this proxy war. Think about the White Helmets lies. The Western media is very good at packaging propaganda. At the same time we OBJECTIVELY KNOW that the HTS group that took over large sections of Syria are Al Qaeda extremists - and that they chop heads and kill minority groups etc. So what is the truth? Certainly not the idea that Syria has been liberated by democracy loving 'rebels'.
