Coulthart in Egypt: ‘UnchartedX’ details impossible Egyptian creations | Reality Check (NewsNation)

Ross Coulthart is on assignment in Egypt, reporting on the culture's ancient mysteries in a special three-part series for NewsNation's "Reality Check." In episode 1, Ross visits the Valley of the Kings and talks with YouTube sensation Ben van Kerkwyk, host of "UnchartedX." They discuss the impossible-to-replicate artifacts found at Egypt’s most famous landmarks.

Although Mr Coulthart doesn't quite understand everything being raised in this interview a lot of important information is aired that is worth checking out. The video provides a good summary of the issues. They hit on many key points, perhaps the most important being the precision nature of certain artifacts (the bowls, and statues) going back to the very beginning of the dynastic period, and before.

Also covered, aside from Egypt, is the 12,000+ year old Gobekli Tepe site in Turkey, and 40 other related megalithic sites in the region. These sites should not exist for nomadic hunter-gather people and points to a level of specialisation and permanency when it comes to their social order. Locations such as this demand a reconsideration of early human activity, with perhaps the coexistence of nomadic people with the tail end of an Ice Age human civilisation.
