An 800 mile demilitarized zone policed by the West, with Russia keeping the existing captured territory? The Russians can only settle for a total surrender, and the complete demilitarization of Ukraine otherwise the war could resume in several years time.

The Russians would likely demand control of Odessa and most of the Eastern side of the country, from the Dnipro River to the Russian border. They might also want a substantial demilitarized zone along their border. 

The current 800 mile demilitarized zone proposal seems to be relayed through Elon Musk who seems to have concocted the idea. However, someone like Colonel Douglas Macgregor, who also advises Trump, will likely side with the Russian terms. Ukraine has lost.
