The wars in the Middle East are also being used to funnel people from that region into the West in order to balkanise Western countries. This is all being orchestrated by the neoconservatives who have control over US foreign policy. They don't want the fighting to end now that they've clearly lost the propaganda war. They want a final East vs West battle in order to kill their enemies, which is also ruining their allies. The things they want to do, and reality, are two different things.
Peace needs to be established and people returned to their countries of origin.
