MPs Are in Fear for Their Lives (Lotus Eaters)

This is the consequence of stupid levels of tolerance and trying to be all things to all people rather than understanding reality. The ugly truth is that YOU might not be a bigoted SOB but other people are, and you have to factor this in to your politics. There is a real threat in the West from Islamists who want to change the culture and essentially seize power.
