Fantastic Jobs Numbers Are GARBAGE & Here’s Why! (Jimmy Dore)

We’re constantly being told how great the economy is with low unemployment, inflation dropping and GDP growth, but if that’s the case why do Americans feel so insecure about their work and their finances? And why are so many of us having to pursue second and third jobs? And why do we hear so much about corporate layoffs?

Jimmy is joined by Due Dissidence host Russell Dobular, financial analyst Carol Roth and Colonial Metals CEO Paul Stone to discuss the structural problems with the U.S. economy and what can be done to right our fiscal ship.

They take a look at the Shadowstats unemployment figures that are done in the way they used to calculate unemployment in the 1980s. According to these figures the real unemployment rate is nearer to 25 percent, not the  3 percent reported. If you work a few hours a week, where you might not have consistent employment, you are counted as employed.
