The Corporate Trolls Trying to Influence Opinions on Social Media (PowerfulJRE)




What we're seeing is an online propaganda effort by large corporations, but it's not only them. There's always been pro Government propagandists/influencers, working at the expense of the truth, in the mainstream media space, and in academia. In the past, and into the present day, they have tried to steer or mislead the public over controversial issues such as the assassination of JFK, UFOs or the truth about 911.

These influencers typically come in the form of various skeptics groups and 'independent' academics (the expert opinion), where none of them are actually independent. The way of detecting these trolls is that they are trying to derail truthful content, and so they have to lie or irrationally spin things. What happens is that supposedly intelligent people end up flying in the face of obvious facts and rational debate, commonly engaging in logical fallacies, ones they had previously described, without acknowledging any fault, thus exposing themselves as disingenuous (or mentally ill) actors.

Today, when it comes to corporations, that previously only ran open Public Relations campaigns (advertising), we find they are acting more nefariously in ways similar to the Government with online propaganda trolls and bots. So beware ! Think objectively about the facts, and think for yourself.

Don't be swayed by appeals to, or by, authority figures or institutions, or be influenced by ridicule or consensus opinion (psychological ploys). Be alert for intelligent people, the so called experts, who are not making sense and are going against the openly available data. Further be aware of members of the public who have been fooled by their gambits (or consensus trolls who pretend to be convinced by faulty arguments or outright lies).
