Much of the Cancel Culture attitude comes from a demented view of those they disagree with, seeing their political opposition as being racists or homophobes. It's the smear that was used against ordinary people that voted for Trump and is insane. The fact that the Cancel Pigs are now being kicked to the curb is a good thing and has been a long time coming.

Criticizing a creative's work is not cancel culture. Saying rude things about a creative is not cancel culture. Saying that someone's opinion sucks is not cancel culture. Cancel culture is when you leverage your influence and connections--or tattle to people who have influence and connections--to drive people out of gainful employment and relationships they thought were meaningful for social infractions and/or political disagreements

It's the difference between wanting someone fired because they don't agree with you and wanting someone fired because they're objectively bad at their job.

It's firing someone because they voted for Trump even if they're comics sell really well and NOT firing someone who's comics sell poorly because they voted for Biden.

One is cancel culture and the other is business.

Millar, et al, aren't trying to "cancel" the "cancel pigs". What they are doing is shining a light on their behavior, showing fortitude to not listen to them and their threats anymore, and simply ask that criticism of a dying industry be allowed and, maybe, ask that the Big 2 start hiring competent people to write better stories, so comics sales will actually increase.

They never imagined this day would come. They never imagined people would not side with them. They never imagined that they would be viewed as the creatures they are. They also never imagined a decent story. These are fundamentally just mean people with no imagination.
