The FBI will likely claim they lost the laptops rather than release them if they contain damning information. The point about the story is that it is raising awareness of high level corruption rife within the USA. Seth Rich was almost certainly the leaker of emails that contained information relevant to the DNC rigging their own primaries and the Pizzagate scandal.
