This is a good development for the Netherlands. He's anti EU, anti open borders, plus anti war in Ukraine. The Dutch have a housing crisis, like many other Western countries, because of mass migration. For those thinking these policies are a good idea, how many millions of people should a country like Japan take in? Maybe 10 to 50 million for Japan? Where does it stop? If it is not ok for other established countries to take in a lot of people then the same should apply in the West or you are a hypocrite.
What works is limited numbers where the new people, actual families, or legitimate students, take up, or respect, the prevailing culture. The masses of people coming into Europe at the moment are almost all fighting aged male economic migrants, who are not fitting in. The moral hazard is where does this stop? You HAVE to use your brain not just your heart. The best solution is a closed border and fair trade to help other countries prosper, so people stay where they are and only move by choice (because they like the destination country).
