Surprise Attack Stuns Israel; WaPo: Ukraine Despair War Unwinnable; EU Granada Summit Shambles (Alexander Mercouris)

There might have been an intelligence failure in Israel but it is equally likely that they let HAMAS attack. Israel wants war in order to eliminate the Arabs in the region. It's why they supported extremists in Syria. They want the Arabs to kill themselves, or initiate a war with Israel where the Israelis know they have the backing of US forces if things go bad for them.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine, after the failed Western backed summer offensive, reality is setting in for some. There is thought that the Russians will not actually go on the attack in winter but keep building their forces and pick off the Ukrainians. Hundreds of thousands more troops are being trained, and over a long period of time. The key to the Russian plans is likely the formation of massive drone forces to eliminate everything that moves on the battlefield along with anti drone guns, anti drone missiles and electronic warfare units. The Russian air force is being built up and no doubt other artillery and missile forces so that effective bombardments can be maintained. The war, to the Russians, is one of overwhelming accurate firepower. They are seeking to annihilate their opposition.  

Ukrainian forces are presently surrendering in larger numbers, with the Russians taking fewer losses. Will they collapse before the Russians engage in any major offensive?
