Democracy Dies In Darkness (Tony Heller)

The Washington Post motto is "Democracy Dies In Darkness" - which also seems to be their mission statement.

The media (The Washington Post propaganda rag) has been reporting a rise in billion dollar weather events/disasters. However, when you adjust for increased property values, and much larger populations, there is no real dollar difference compared to past events. If the 1926 Hurricane that hit Miami struck today the damage bill would be in the order of 200 to 300 billion dollars. In 26 there was a storm surge that put large parts of the city under 2 to more than 4 meters of water! Today severe hail storms still frequently create billion dollar damage bills. Billion dollar events are understandable. What the media is doing here is ramping up fear about 'the end of the world' that helps to psychologically smash people. The good news is that the world is going to be okay, unless we nuke the place. The clip also features severe disaster events from 1927 and 28.
