The Case for #Comicsgate (Michael Bancroft)
Critics are claiming that Comicgate may be spiraling into the same sort of extreme reactive behaviour as pushed by the woke crowd. This is wrong. Most of the Comicgate crew and online critics have remained at the same consistent level. When it comes to Comicgate the creators simply want space so they can make comics in a network of people that reject the extremist woke messaging that happens in the mainstream.
Bancroft points out that the battle here is one of liberty - to make what you want (and make money) vs woke (money losing) authoritarianism. He puts up the idea that we face a battle against controlling Marxists, in this case Globalists and Critical Race Theory adherents/zombies (useful idiots), where you can't win your freedom by simply keeping your head down.
The video addresses the fall of Ya Boi Zack, a key driver of the Comicsgate community, who does not want to be associated with the movement anymore because he sees them as becoming overly critical of everything. Zack does have a point, where the critics may be overstepping in some of their criticisms, but a LOT of the criticism is valid, and it does not negate the need to stand strong against woke authoritarianism - where everything in comics must be gay or race swapped (something Zack points out continually). We can't simply back down in the face of unrelenting tyranny. Furthermore, the woke tyranny extends into almost every aspect of Western society these days (via woke HR infiltration in areas of corporate Governance, education, Government, media etc), so the battle really is inescapable.
Also, Comicsgate is a mixed community. There should be space for a lot of different people, including some extreme political takes, without an obsessive need to censor people and make them conform to Globalist or CRT values. It's much as Ethan Van Sciver has described in his videos, where creators need to be left alone to make whatever they want. The Comicsgate network helps promote this independence, which generally appeals to mainstream comic book customers.

Wonderfully presented, Michael. Except for the doodles. But I'll forgive that. 😉
I had a long debate with someone I knew who had a problem with me being CG. He contended that CG was a niche group with a limited audience and social ideas that would soon be left behind. I argued- but probably not as well as I would now- that CG and similar movements are the voice of the people.
CG only seemed niche and minority at first because regular people take time to wake up to the cultural revolution that they have been slowly being boiled in, and also because the establishment has the power of the media to make their own ideas seem organically popular. But they have no such true organic popularity, and in fact their ideas are elitist and extreme.
Our growth proves that we speak for the common man.
